Doug Simonson, CEO
Business Development - Property Development Consultant

Raised in Southern California, Doug Simonson is a self taught professional, in the real estate development business. He was instrumental in creating what is now a thriving residential, business and recreational mecca in Scottsdale, Arizona known as Pinnacle Peak. Doug was fortunate to have aligned himself with a business partnership that looked “outside the box” in the late 60’s and through the early 90’s to create master-planned communities that included two globally recognized championship golf course communities, Troon and Troon North, as well as a vibrant commercial/office environment know as the Plaza at Pinnacle Peak. Doug was involved in the acquisition, master planning and infrastructure development of Pinnacle Peak, and worked in conjunction with a number of financial joint venture partners from throughout Europe, Japan and Canada. As development continued, Doug found the need for a successful marketing venture for the projects, and built a multi- faceted real estate and marketing organization, Pinnacle Peak Realty, which employed 250 agents with 5 offices in the North Scottsdale area.

In the late 90’s, Doug and his wife Annie ventured outside of their neighborhood in Arizona and turned to Colorado where Annie was born and raised. They immediately developed a love affair with the charming community of Durango in southwest Colorado. Doug and Annie had hopes of raising their two younger daughters in a smaller community lifestyle and were drawn to Durango when they began skiing at Purgatory in the late 1980’s. It was in Durango in 2000 that Doug continued his passion for development, construction, and economic development, as he introduced new development ideas and concepts to an emerging community. He finds his success not only in the product, but in the process, as he involves himself in every phase of a project from acquisition funding political process, design, construction and marketing.

Doug feels that giving back to his community is vital to his personal and business efforts, and participates on a number of Boards in the Durango area.  He has enjoyed his 5 year involvement with ClassiqueBilt Development and Construction, LLC and looks forward to a bright future for the company.
